INSTALLATION  INSTRUCTIONS

Installation of Male Jiffy Hitch

• Park the tractor (without an implement) on a level surface

• Lower the lift arms to lowest position

• Remove Top Link

• Set male Jiffy Hitch flat on the ground with clevis end toward the lift arms.

• Lower right lift arm by turning leveling crank until the lift arm is within 4'' of the ground

• Install right clevis end of the male Jiffy Hitch to the right arm by inserting the pin

• Remove the pin from the left lift arm and lift the rod

• Turn the lift rod until it is the same level as the right lift arm

• Attach the male to the lift arms and HTL

Installation of Hydraulic Top link (HTL)

• The rod end of HTL attaches to the male Jiffy Hitch

• The remote HTL plugs into the quick couplers on the tractor hydraulic system.  (It is best to have cylinder to extend out when lever is pulled back)

• The self-contained HTL are to be installed with reservoir on the top of the cylinder. After installing, make sure when the lift arms are raised and lowered that there is No Obstruction to the HTL and reservoir

• To adjust the length of the self-contained HTL, implements must be On The Ground. Then put the valve in the open position.  To extend the HTL, raise the lift arms on the tractor until the HTL is extended to the desired length.  Now close the valve.  To shorten the HTL, with valve in open position, pull the tractor forward. The resistance of the implement on the ground will cause the HTL to shorten.  At desired length, close the valve.

• The Optional Self-contained HTL with a fender mounted reservoir and valve must have the reservoir and valve mounted higher than the HTL.

Trouble Shooting

• Use 10 weight hydraulic oil in the reservoir

• With the HTL rod in the shortest position (closed), remove cap on top of the reservoir and fill with hydraulic oil to 2'' of the top.  Replace the cap.

• If there is movement in the self-contained HTL when the valve is in the locked position, There Is Air In The Cylinder. To remove the air, the HTL needs to be placed in a level position with the rod in the shortest position. (1) Remove the cap on reservoir and fill within 2'' of the top with hydraulic oil and replace the cap.  (2) With the valve in open position, slowly extend the cylinder to full extention. (3) Slowly retract the cylinder fully.  Repeat step 1-3 until the HTL will hold position when the valve is in the closed position.

Installing the Female Jiffy Hitch

• Measure the distance between the lift arm pins on the implement.  Using that distance, determine which holes on the Jiffy Hitch brackets, when attached on the female, will be at least that wide or wider.  Attach bracket to one side of the female( Do Not Tighten Bolts). On a Category I implement, a bushing is required.   Slide the bushings on the lift arm pins with the washer side of the bushing facing in.

• Choose the hole on the bracket that gives you the height that you desire.  Place the lift arm pin of the implement (mower,box blade,ect.) in that hole.

• Take the other bracket and place it on the other lift arm pin using corresponding holes for height.

• Lift the female and bolt the bracket to the female.

• Attach the Top Link Bracket to the T bar on the Female so that it can be attached to the Top Link of the implement to keep the Female in vertical position.

• ''OFF SET BRACKETS'' are used when the ''BOLT ON BRACKETS'' can  not be used.  If possible, use ''OFF SET BRACKETS'' on the implements without PTO's.  ''OFF SET BRACKETS'' move implements about 11'' further away from the tractor which can cause the PTO shaft to be short. (a PTO shaft extender is available).
